Covering the last three months

Spring dress picture and next a picture of the quail nest that was made while we were in Montana. Thanks to John and Betty for the wheel barrow which protected it! Unfortunately, the little things hatched and took off in the night or something because we never got to see them.
The following are photos from our trip to Montana. Some from the Missoula carousel, then pictures of the kids and Grandma and Grandpa with their chicks (you notice the hand towels on the kids' laps. After washing a lot of clothes, we got wise). Also, a few of the cousins at Ethan's house. One is of Uncle LeRoy opening his own personal blizzard package, and also a bonus of Uncle Mike and Dessa. I got a picture of Aunt Linnea and new baby Kendra, but they didn't turn out well, so we'll wait on those. I just realized that I missed posting the picture of Grandpa Mike wit Lily riding a horse, but if I add it in now it will be all out of order, so I'll post it later. Man, I wish it were easier to organize photos on these blogs! Also, there are more new pictures on the following post of Dessa's birthday and other things.

Pictures (2)

Every girl needs a scooter!

Dessa's birthday! 3 years old!
The girls are climbing out of a metal nest model at the zoo. This is the only picture of the girls at the zoo that we have. Brilliant, considering we took two still cameras and a video camera with no battery.

I'm Behind!

Well, here are a few pictures from the last couple of months. I've gotten so behind! The first is a picture of the snow horse the girls and I made the one day it snowed here. Dessa broke the tail off so I guess it's a draft horse. I do have to attribute the gentle curve of the neck to the warmth of the day, however. Unfortunately, it was so warm they were never able to play on it.
The second and third pictures are of the girls' super suits. I had no hand in Dessa's creation.

I suppose I have some more pictures on my camera to upload or download or diagonal load or whatever it is one of these days.

Slew of pictures

So, the first picture is the girls hugging Grandpa as they were leaving last time they came. I had to put in this picture of Lily looking so beautiful and girly with her purse and stroller, even though it's a dog in the stroller. Then we have the girls' trick-or-treating costumes. Lily is a "cute little baby triceratops." Dessa has been wearing that dress ever since.

A little shot of our first snow. It lasted long enough to get snow suits on and that's about it. The next picture is the birthday card Lily made Bob. She handed it to me on his birthday and said, "Can we put it in the mailbox so the mailman can take it to Daddy?" I said, "It doesn't have an envelope or address, the mailman won't know where to take it." Lily said, "It says, 'Dad, Secretary!" Apparently, the mailman should know from that bit of info.

Here's our tree and a funny pose from Odessa, set off by the shiny star. Have a Merry Christmas! I'm sure I won't post again until after!

One tooth down!

Well, I'm trying a different way to put pictures on here in an attempt to make the words line up with the pics better. So far, not much better. Oh well. The first three are of our little play vacation. We dropped Bob off at the airport yesterday morning and the girls were a little sad they didn't get to go. So in the afternoon, we played vacation. I set up a table for their dinner and was their waitress, giving them a menu and calling them "miss" and they called me "ma'am." Then after dinner they checked into their "hotel room" which is our guest room with a new futon. I let them borrow some old keys and packed their jammies in their backpacks. After they checked in, we went to a show (a Russian dance and choir video I picked up at the library) then all three went to bed in the futon. They did fairly well at being quiet and staying in bed, but I did have to take Dessa out in the middle of the night. I can't imagine how Lily and Ella slept with her in the middle--I took her into my bed and was kicked and head-butted all night. Anyhow, we had lots of fun.

Here is a cute picture of Dess and Ella in thier jammies. The next photo is of Daddy, Grandma Bunky and the girls doing the bacon dance.

Here is Lily with her first lost tooth, which is in the baggy she's holding. Second picture is Dessa "helping" which you can imagine is more delightful than it is helpful.

These two are from the last hot weekend we spent outside. We always seem to discover really great places to play right at the end of summer. What a fun spot this is! Growing up in Montana, I always figured lovely beach sand was only found on the coast, but we have it here in Wenatchee! Someone needs to figure out how to make lightweight sand insoles because I felt no pain from my broken bone in my foot when we were on the sand. (Didn't know it was broken at the time).

Miniatures

Bob has been planning to build me a secretary desk/shelving unit for my crafty stuff. To try to work out some of the bugs ahead of time, he has been making scaled-down models of the stuff he wants to build. Here are some examples, one of the secretary (with accessories) and then a miniature of a planned device we may need to make use of as the girls near the end of their teenage years (modeled by Prince Phillip and that prince from Cinderella who has no name). Actually, both princes were broken and Bob was gluing them.

:)

Not too much going on

Just a couple of pictures to post. I do have to post a bit of Dessa-speak. We've figured out that Ella is pronounced "uh" and Lily is "Yee." For example, Ella and Dess were playing on the couch and after Ella got down Dess said, "Uuh. Weh ah yoo? Wayz uh me!" (Ella, where are you, wait for me!)
